Depart from Murchison Falls National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking, one of the most rewarding activities in Uganda. After trekking, proceed to Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at the Airport and Check-in at Your Kampala Hotel
Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be met by a driver guide or our company representative who will provide a brief overview of the safari. Immediately after the briefing, drive to your pre-booked hotel according to your meal plan.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with a Stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before driving to Murchison Falls National Park, approximately a 6-7 hour journey. Optionally, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rhino trekking adventure, which takes about 2-3 hours. Receive a short briefing and be guided by a sanctuary guide during this activity.
Afterward, you’ll have an additional 30-40 minutes for photos and videos. Continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Evening Boat Cruise
Start your day with breakfast at the lodge, then head to the park for a morning game drive. Witness diverse wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, and numerous bird species, creating unforgettable memories. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the evening, prepare for an exciting boat cruise along the Nile River from the Paraa area. The cruise lasts 2-3 hours, offering opportunities to see aquatic animals like crocodiles, hippos, and other mammals coming to the river to drink. After the cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and evening relaxation.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On the 4th day, wake up early for breakfast at the lodge, then depart for the southwestern part of Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with lunch en route. Expect a full-day journey of approximately 10 hours, arriving at your lodge in Bwindi late in the evening. Check in for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking
This is the highlight of your safari. Begin with breakfast at the lodge, then proceed to the park’s main offices for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules by park officials. The briefing covers various guidelines to follow during the trek. After the briefing, head to the starting point and begin your search for the endangered mountain gorillas.
Gorilla trekking duration varies from 1-7 hours depending on gorilla movements. Once you locate the gorillas, enjoy an additional hour in their presence for photography, videos, and observing their unique behaviors. After trekking, return to the offices for your trekking certificate, then head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to the Airport and Departure
On the final day of your safari, start with a delicious breakfast at the lodge. Depart Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Kampala, with a stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for photography and to admire the southern and northern hemispheres. Continue to Entebbe Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your 6-day Murchison Falls and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks adventure.
