Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport and City Tour

Upon arrival at the airport, your Rwanda safari driver guide will meet you, brief you shortly about the safari, and then drive you to Kigali City for a tour.

During the city tour, visit Kimironko Market, Rwanda’s oldest market, and then proceed to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center to learn about the tragic events of 1994, when Rwandan tribal conflicts led to the deaths of over 800,000 people and displaced others. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, drive to Volcanoes National Park, known for its endangered mountain gorillas. The park is also famous for housing rare golden monkeys. Check-in at the booked lodge for your meals.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Experience

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before driving to the park for gorilla trekking, starting with a briefing at the park headquarters. Gorilla trekking can take 1-8 hours, with each group limited to 8 people. After the briefing, start your trek to find these majestic animals. Gorillas often reside high in the mountains, allowing for an hour’s observation, photography, and video recording. Return to your lodge for meals.

In the evening, embark on a cultural tour at Iby’iwachu Cultural Center, where you will learn about the historical background of the Banyarwanda through music, dance, drama, and art. Purchase handmade crafts as souvenirs. Return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Kigali International Airport for a flight to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Meet your driver guide, who will brief you on the journey before taking you to a hotel for lunch. In the evening, embark on an evening game drive in the park. Spot some of the animals and return to your lodge before dark.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive

Start your day early with breakfast, then pack your lunch for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is Tanzania’s most visited park, renowned for its wildebeest migration and diverse wildlife, including elephants, zebras, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalos, and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the plains and continue exploring for more animal sightings. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 6: Drive to Arusha and Departure

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before driving to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight home.
