This 7 days Uganda gorillas and Serengeti National Park is one of the best safaris which most travelers wouldn’t like to miss while on their visit to East Africa. The Safari starts from Kigali in Rwanda to Arusha in Tanzania. On this safari, you will do gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable national Park of Uganda, and travel back to Kigali airport from where you will fly to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
While in Serengeti, you will have a game drive for a whole day, to admire sightings of the big five animals including lions, buffalos, Rhinos, leopards, and Elephants that will make your safari interesting. Depart from Serengeti and take an outbound flight via Arusha airport.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali airport and transfer to the hotel.
Be picked up by your driver guide immediately after arriving at the airport in Kigali who will first give you a quick briefing about these seven days of Uganda gorillas and Serengeti National Park. The briefing is always short mainly consisting of the guidelines to follow while on a safari. After briefing, you will drive heading to the hotel checking in for your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi impenetrable national Park in Uganda.
On this second day of your Safari, wake up early in the morning and drive heading to Bwindi impenetrable national Park home to the endangered mountain gorillas located in the Southwestern part of Uganda. While on this journey, enjoy incredibly beautiful scenery of Virunga mountains and welcoming people on the roadside. Check-in at your booked lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience.
Enjoy your well-served morning dish at the lodge and later drive to the park’s main entry gate where your vital documents will be cross-checked, to guarantee you entrance to the jungles to trek these unique apes. The adventure takes 1-8 hours depending on the location of a gorilla group and where they nested the previous night.
Note that as soon as you meet these primates, an extra hour will be given to you for taking photos and videos. After trekking, head back to the office for your trekking certificate.
In the evening, enjoy a cultural experience by Batwa people who will entertain you with their performances, taste their cultural dishes, enjoy their dances, listen to their songs and have personal interactions with these forest people. Optionally you can buy some of their local made crafts and souvenirs which will make you remember the experience. Drive back to your lodge for dinner.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali and fly to Arusha.
On this day, wake up early in the morning and be served with morning breakfast at the lodge. Drive to Kigali to catch up with the time of your flight to Arusha. Upon reaching Arusha, an experienced Tanzanian tour guide will pick you up from the airport and brief you about the safari and later proceed to the booked hotel in the city for dinner and night stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy morning breakfast at your lodge. Then drive northwards to Serengeti National Park the home to big five animals covering a distance of 5-6 hours’ drive while having several stopovers at some places of interest for photography and enjoying beautiful sceneries of the landscapes.
You can optionally take an evening game drive and experience beautiful sunset of the Serengeti National Park and sight different herds of animals returning to their hiding places. Return to your lodge for dinner.
Day 6: Full-day game drive.
On this day, rise up in the morning for tasty breakfast and later head to the interior of Serengeti National Park for a whole day game drive experience where you will have a look at the different herds of animal species grazing, ranging from buffalos, elephants, lions, leopards, Rhinos, gazelles, wildebeests, antelopes, zebras, and many more animals.
Lunch will be provided to you while in the wild and after lunch, move to the migration trail where you will have a look at thousands of different animals moving in search of water and pasture. After the game drive, head back to your lodge and be given your dinner and rest.
Day 7: Depart from Serengeti National Park and transfer to Arusha airport for your flight.
Begin your last day with morning breakfast at the lodge and drive to the airport. It is still an interesting one as you will be viewing Tanzania’s roadside attractions. The guide will drop you at either a hotel of your choice or directly to the airport for your exit flight.
