Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Pickup from Entebbe Airport
Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, our company’s driver guide, who will be with you throughout the safari, will meet and welcome you to Uganda. The guide will brief you about this 7-day Uganda Gorillas and Ngorongoro Safari. Drive to the booked lodge in either Kampala or Entebbe where you will spend the night.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up in the morning, have a hearty breakfast, then check out from the hotel and meet the driver who will drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where mountain gorillas are found.
The drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park will be quite long; have your enroute lunch, then proceed with the journey to your lodge with good views of beautiful nature. Check in at the hotel and relax as you wait for dinner.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Enjoy breakfast in the morning, drive to the park headquarters, meet the warden who will brief you, and then be divided into groups of 8 people. Head into the forest with park rangers to search for the allocated gorilla group for you to trek. Note that if you are below 15 years old, you are not allowed to trek the mountain gorillas.
When you come face to face with mountain gorillas, stand at a distance of 7 meters and observe these endangered mountain gorillas play, feed, groom each other, while the silverback protects them. After the one-hour gorilla trekking experience, return to the park headquarters to meet the driver guide and travel back to the lodge.
Day 4: Fly to Tanzania, Drive to Serengeti National Park
On the fourth day of your 7-day Uganda Gorillas and Ngorongoro Safari, wake up in the morning, have breakfast at the lodge, then drive from Bwindi back to Kampala. Have lunch en route, then proceed immediately to Entebbe Airport and fly to Arusha in Tanzania. Upon arrival in Tanzania, drive directly to Serengeti National Park and check in at the lodge for your late dinner.
Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti and Transfer to Ngorongoro
The day spent in Serengeti National Park will create the best memories of your life as you observe a lot of wildlife and birdlife in their habitats. This savanna park allows for game drives in the plains where spotting a lot of game, including the wildebeest migrations from July to November, is possible.
Other animals to observe are lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, impala, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceros, accompanied by the sweet melodies of birds. Bring your packed lunch from the lodge and enjoy it in the wild as you observe the animals. Return to the lodge before dusk for refreshments, then check out and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Day 6: Full Day in Ngorongoro
After breakfast, transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, named after the large Ngorongoro volcanic caldera within the area. This area includes Olduvai Gorge, where early human skulls were discovered. The conservation area boasts nine craters, with Ngorongoro being the largest.
While in this conservation area, observe animals like elephants, lions (in high concentration), buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos, making up the Big Five game. Also spot zebras, cheetahs, jackals, and many more animals. Lake Magadi, a soda lake in the area, attracts pink flamingos during the rainy season, making it a birding destination in Tanzania. Spend the night in Ngorongoro.
Day 7: Drive to Arusha. End of Safari
Wake up in the morning, enjoy breakfast, then leave the Ngorongoro area and drive to Arusha for your flight back home. Optionally, take a city tour around Arusha, the northern capital of Tanzania.
