During this 2-day Rwanda gorilla trekking safari, arrive at Kigali airport and meet the driver guide who will immediately take you to Volcanoes National Park. On the second day, participate in mountain gorilla trekking. Depart back home through Kigali airport.
Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon landing at Kigali International Airport, our company driver guide will be ready to welcome you to Rwanda and provide a short briefing about this 2-day Rwanda gorilla trekking safari. Refresh and later drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in Rwanda’s northern region.
Volcanoes National Park is situated in the heart of the Virunga conservation area, spanning across the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is home to mountain gorillas and other wildlife. Continue your drive to the lodge, check in, have lunch, and relax.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Departure
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Your guide will then drive you to the park headquarters where you will meet the park ranger guide for a briefing on the gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. After the briefing, the park guide will lead you into the jungle to search for the magical mountain gorillas.
The search for the gorillas can take 1-7 hours depending on their location. While searching, you may be lucky to spot other primates such as colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and baboons. Upon finding your allocated gorilla family, you will spend one hour in their presence, during which you can take photos for memories.
After observing the mountain gorillas for one hour, trek back to the park offices to collect your certificate of participation. Later, drive back to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, proceed to Kigali airport for your flight, depending on your departure schedule.
