Day 1: Pick Up from Kigali and Drive to Bwindi
Upon your arrival, our courteous driver guide will warmly welcome you at the airport or meet you at your hotel. Receive a briefing about the safari and embark on the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. There are two border options to Bwindi, either through Katuna or Cyanika, with a drive time of about 4-5 hours depending on the border used.
Continue the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and check in at the lodge for a late lunch or dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Return to Kigali
Gorilla trekking is the highlight of the visit to Bwindi and begins early in the morning to track the assigned gorilla group. After an early breakfast, depart for the park offices for grouping and briefing, usually conducted by a park ranger guide. Only a group of eight people is recommended to trek with each gorilla group.
Enjoy 1-7 hours of trekking, observing and learning about these remarkable primates, which share 96% of their DNA with humans. Witness fascinating behaviors such as maternal care, grooming, and more. Photography is allowed without flash, and after your time with the gorillas ends, return to the park office with your ranger guide and meet your driver guide to return to the lodge for lunch.
