3-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour From Entebbe

The safari starts from Entebbe and travels to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park using the Masaka Mbarara Kabale route. An alternative entry is possible through Rwanda using the Chanika or Katuna border points. The road journey takes about eight to nine hours and includes a stop at the Equator Line Uganda.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will be picked up from Entebbe by a professional driver guide who will brief you about the 3-day Bwindi tour from Entebbe. Begin the drive through Masaka and Mbarara with planned stops along the way. Visit the Equator crossing for photos and a short break.

Continue to Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch. After lunch, drive through Kabale and arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Pygmies Visit

After an early breakfast, head to the briefing point at Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, or Rushaga. Park officials will assign you a gorilla family and a ranger guide. Gorilla trekking can take between two and six hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once found, you are allowed one hour to observe them.

During the trek, it is advised to carry drinking water and light snacks. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa pygmies for a cultural experience where they share songs, dances, and stories about forest life.

Day 3: Bwindi to Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin the drive back to Entebbe. Stop for lunch in Mbarara or again at Igongo Cultural Centre. Continue to the Equator or visit Mpambire Drum Makers before arriving in Entebbe.
