This 21-day East African safari takes you across four countries: Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Kenya. The journey combines wildlife viewing, primate trekking, scenic drives, flights between countries, and cultural visits. It is designed for travelers who want to see East Africa in one long and well paced safari.
Day 1: Arrival in Kampala Uganda
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport. A company representative welcomes you, gives a short briefing, and transfers you to your hotel in Kampala. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive west to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop in Fort Portal for lunch and at the Equator for photos. Continue to the park and check in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
After breakfast, go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Look for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, and sometimes lions and leopards. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, birds, and animals along the shore. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector
Have breakfast and drive south through the Ishasha sector, known for tree climbing lions. After wildlife viewing, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After early breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a briefing. Start the gorilla trek with guides and rangers. The trek can take between 1 and 7 hours. Spend one hour with the gorillas once found. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Cross to Rwanda & Drive to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, drive to the Gatuna border and cross into Rwanda. Continue to Volcanoes National Park. Stop for lunch on the way. Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Golden Monkey Trekking & Drive to Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast, attend a briefing and go for golden monkey trekking. Spend one hour watching the monkeys. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, drive south to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk
After breakfast, go to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. Trek into the forest and spend one hour with the chimpanzees. Return for lunch. Later, take a canopy walk for forest views and bird watching. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Fly from Kigali to Arusha Tanzania
After breakfast, drive to Kigali International Airport and fly to Arusha. On arrival, meet a company representative and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Drive to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy wildlife viewing on the way. Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive with picnic lunch. Look for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and birds. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Second Full Day in Serengeti
Another full day of game drives in different areas of the park. Lunch in the bush. Return to the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 13: Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check in at the lodge and have lunch. Enjoy an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 14: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Lake Manyara
Early morning game drive in Ngorongoro. Return for breakfast and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 15: Lake Manyara Game Drive & Return to Arusha
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Look for tree climbing lions and birds. Lunch, then drive back to Arusha. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 16: Fly to Kenya & Transfer to Masai Mara
After breakfast, fly to Kenya. Transfer to Masai Mara National Park. Lunch at the lodge and optional afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 17: Full Day Masai Mara Safari
Full day game drive in Masai Mara. Picnic lunch in the park. Look for big cats, elephants, and antelopes. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 18: Masai Mara Game Drive & Masai Cultural Visit
Morning game drive followed by a visit to a Masai community for a cultural experience. Return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 19: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy scenic views along the way. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 20: Bird Watching in Lake Nakuru
Spend the day bird watching in Lake Nakuru National Park. See flamingos and other bird species. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 21: Drive to Nairobi & Departure
After breakfast, drive to Nairobi. Enjoy a short city tour if time allows. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
