Detailed trip.
Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park.
At the prearranged time, a company representative will pick you up and brief you. After that, take the wheel and begin your gorgeous journey for a distance of about 218 kilometers (4 hours). Nyungwe is located on the border of Burundi, Lake Kivu, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is a 1000 sq. km. area of Afro-montane rainforest.
Learn about the wealthy in Rwanda, Rwandan royalty, and gold mining during your visit at Nyanza King’s Palace, a historical site in Nyabisindu. Enjoy lunch on route, and then continue driving to your lodge to check in and relax. The day ends with supper and a restful snooze.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk.
You will depart from the resort after a delectable breakfast to begin the day’s activities, which include chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk. The ranger guides will greet you and give you the briefing, going through the dos and don’ts of trekking as well as chimpanzee life. Due to a 98% DNA similarity, chimpanzees and humans are genetically identical. They dwell in the forest, where you will spend around an hour to five hours searching for them, taking pictures of them, smiling at their singing, and other activities.
They are gregarious creatures who create really intriguing sounds. Following a break for lunch, you’ll go on a canopy walk in the evening, where you might see rare birds, primates in the treetops, and more. After the activities, you’ll drive to your lodge for dinner, a bonfire if one is provided, sleep, and other activities.
Day 3: Nyungwe National Park to Volcanoes National Park.
You will leave the chimpanzee habitat and travel to the gorilla stronghold of the volcanoes national park after breakfast. The journey by car takes about 4-5 hours, including a lunch stop along the way. After arriving at the park, you’ll head to the lodge for late lunch, dinner and night time.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking.
After a hearty breakfast at the inn, head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and your hiking equipment to start the day off right. You will be greeted by the ranger guides, who will go over the dos and don’ts of trekking before assigning you to a group of gorillas. You will need between 1 and 8 hours, plus an additional hour for snapping pictures and learning about the apes’ way of life at their habitat, depending on your trekking pace and the distance the gorillas have covered.
These friendly animals can be found in the tropical Jungle for lunch. Vervet monkeys, baboons, and other primates, as well as birds and unusual bird species, are among the other park occupants that you have a possibility of seeing. Following the gorilla trekking exercise, you will return to the lodge for refreshment, dinner, and a nap to cap off the day.
Day 5: Transfer to Akagera National Park.
Depart to Akagera National Park, the only savannah park in Rwanda with the African Big5 cats, after a sunrise breakfast at dawn. It takes about two to three hours to get to Akagera National Park, passing through stunning scenery and through rural areas with abundant greenery. Once you get there, you’ll have lunch, rest and then wait to finish the day with dinner and a night’s sleep.
Day 6: Game drive and Boat cruise.
Check out of the lodge after a delicious breakfast and embark on a rewarding 3- to 4-hour wildlife drive over the huge plains of Akagera National Park. Since these creatures are wild, coming into contact with them is not required. If you’re lucky, you might also see lions, leopards, and hyenas in addition to the various antelope species, elephants, zebras, warthogs, and other grazers. The checklist includes the birds, undulating hills and rich foliage.
Following the game drive, you will enjoy a delightful boat ride for about 2-3 hours while snapping photos and exploring the underwater wildlife. With dinner and a restful snooze, this day concludes.
Day 7: Return to Kigali. End of safari
Wake up after a restful night to a hearty breakfast at the resort, then check out to be taken to the international airport in Kigali. The value of a tour of Kigali depends on the duration of your flight. Visit Genocide Memorial center, which serves as a memorial and burial site for more than 20,000 victims of the Hutu and Tutsi Genocide.
Other locations in the city include gift shops, local marketplaces, former presidential palace and so much more. A 7 days Rwanda safaris’ beauty, wildlife and culture will be rewarding, thanks to the driver/guide.
