Lake Mburo National Park covers 260 sq.km and features rocky outcrops, savanna grassland, acacia woodlands, lakes, swamps, valleys, and rolling hills. The park boasts a high concentration of antelopes, including sitatungas and topis, as well as other big mammal species such as side-striped jackals, baboons, otters, white-tailed mongoose, hippos, bush pigs, crocodiles, zebras, vervet monkeys, waterbucks, elands, hyenas, reedbucks, over 350 species of birds, and more.

Day 1: Departure to Lake Mburo National Park
Meet your professional driver guide and receive a quick briefing about this special 3-day tour to see wildlife in Lake Mburo NP in Western Uganda. Begin your trip with a short city tour in Kampala, visiting historical, cultural, or religious sites such as the National Museum, Baha’i Temple, and Kasubi Tombs before proceeding to Lake Mburo NP for a wildlife excursion.
The drive from Kampala to Mburo NP will take 4 hours, with a stopover at the Equator for photography due to its strategic location along the paved Kampala-Mbarara route. Check in at the pre-booked lodge in or around the park for a late lunch, relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full Day with Lake Mburo NP Wildlife
After enjoying a cup of tea or coffee, meet your driver guide for your first game drive in Lake Mburo NP. The 2-3 hour game viewing tour will take you along the Kazuma track, famous for its wildlife sightings and spectacular views of rolling hills and the five lakes. Wildlife you may spot include impalas, elands, bushbucks, zebras, giraffes, klipspringers, buffaloes, birds, and if lucky, leopards.
Return to the lodge at a leisurely pace to observe more animals. After reaching the lodge, relax and enjoy lunch. The next excursion will be a 2-3 hour boat cruise on Lake Mburo to explore aquatic species such as hippos, crocodiles, and birds including the African finfoot, African fish eagle, African grey hornbill, Nubian woodpecker, pelicans, shoebill, brown parrot, yellow-breasted apalis, crested francolin, scimitar bill, and others.
Day 3: Departure for Kampala/Entebbe City
Enjoy a hearty breakfast and then choose from a variety of activities: a guided nature walk, cycling, horseback riding, or quad biking. A nature walk allows you to explore the park on foot, visiting the salt lick spot where you can observe a high concentration of impalas, zebras, and other wildlife licking salt. Afterward, check out and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of the 3-day safari in Lake Mburo NP.
